The Numbers Sum query generates charts that show draw frequencies broken up by the sum of drawn numbers. For example in a draw 5, 8, 13, 19, 34, and 45 the sum is 124. The following table shows numbers of possible draw results and the sum ranges for each game:

 Game Numbers Drawn Results Sum Range Lotto 6/49 Atlantic 6/49 Quebec 49 Ontario 49 Western 649 BC 49 1 - 49 6 13,983,216 21 - 279 Lotto Max 1 - 47 7 62,891,499 28 - 308 Lottario 1 - 45 6 8,146,060 21 - 255 Pogo 1 - 39 6 3,262,623 21 - 219

Most of the sums can be made up of more then one number combination. The closer a sum is to the center sum range, the higher a number of combinations making it up. For example for Lotto 6/49 the center falls at 150 and there is 165,772 number combinations which sum is 150. This trend is the best represented by the chart:

Chart characteristics for other games are very similar. The numeric details of each game can be viewed on separate pages. Click the game name to display the corresponding details:

It should be obviuos that for Lotto 6/49, Quebec 49, Ontario 49, and BC 49 the details are identical. The number range is the same for each (1-49) and 6 numbers are drawn.

When graphical interpretation of the query is not difficult, analysis of numeric details can be a little bit more complex because of number of data. This is why we derived a method of gruping sums. We divide all sums into equal segments of sum ranges and calculate frequencies for each segment. It is very important each segment consist of the same number of sums. The following table shows how we split sum ranges for each game into equal segments and how many number combinations belongs to a segment:

 Group 1 Group 2 Group 3 Group 4 Group 5 Group 6 Group 7 Lotto 6/49 Quebec 49 Ontario 49 Western 649 BC 49 21 - 57 19,725 58 - 94 616,350 95 - 1313,430,113 132 - 168 5,851,440 169 - 205 3,430,113 206 - 242 616,350 243 - 279 19,725 Lotto Max 28 - 6745,224 68 - 1072,157,647 108 - 14715,034,623 148 - 1872,7794,374 188 - 22715,034,623 228 - 2672,157,647 268 - 30845,224 Lottario 21 - 6763,763 68 - 1141,737,866 115 - 1614,541,802 162 - 2081,737,866 209 - 255 63,763 n/a n/a Pogo 21 - 6028,722 61-100717,833 101-1401,806,971 141-180717,833 181-21928722 n/a n/a

Only Pogo groups cannot satisfy the condition of equal segments. The last Pogo group contains one sum less then others. Groups in other games are equal with regard to number of sums.

As an example we display a chart for Lotto 6/49. Others are identical as far as their configuration is concerned:

Everything what was said so far analyzes theoretical aspect of sum frequencies. It should be interesting to compare theory with actual draw results. Go back to the top of this page and submit your queries.

NOTE: The form allows you the select the year range between 1982 and current year; however not all games started in 1982. To view starting dates of all the games stored in our database please read Database Facts.
